- Clean and check thermostat heat sensor and contact points
- Test smoke detectors
- Know the location of gas shut off valves
- Clean clothes dryer vent duct (it's the #2 cause of house fires!)
- Clean coils behind refrigerator
- Replace or clean furnace filters
- Check fire extinguishers. Replace or refill as needed
